Friday Favorites - New Year's Resolution Version

Happy Friday!! This Friday Favorites is going to be dedicated to my New Year's Resolutions

This year instead of making huge unattainable resolutions, I'm going to try to make monthly goals for my self and take them one step at a time. And then by the end of the year, I would have accomplished a lot more than if I would have made some huge resolutions that are intimidating.

I want to focus on some major categories in my life. These categories are:

Personal, Health, Work, Home, House, Financial. Some of them relate to one another but I wanted to break them out. 

Here's a little more info on each category.

1. Personal

This section is mostly for anything related to me. Like this month my goal in this category is to make time for me!

Making time for me could be anything. It could be just taking an hour one night and watching one of my favorite shows. Or making time to hang out with a friend to have some girl time. It doesn't have to be anything major.

2. Health

This section is for my health. One of my goals is to lose weight this year but I wanted to break that down and be even more specific about it.

This month my goal for this category is to Pack my lunches for work. Not only does packing my lunch for work mean I'm eating healthier lunches but I'm also saving money :)

3. Work

This section is obviously about work. By the end of the year my main goal is to get into the Staff Underwriting Department. So my goals in this section will be broken down to help me get there.

I have a few goals I put in this section for this month. They are: organize my email in box and apply for staff UW'ing role. Can't get there if I don't apply :)

4. Home

This section is mainly just for home life in general. It could be around my kids or my husband.

This month the goal for this category is Stress Less!!!

This one is a little more difficult for me. I hate to admit it but being a mom really stresses me out sometimes. I'm OCD about things but I just don't have the time or energy some days to do it all. My kids are both still really young and can't do all that much for themselves. This is also something I struggle with. I'm a very independent person and would rather do everything myself, so having two kids that I have to do almost everything for as well just adds to my stress. But this year this is one of my main areas of focus. I need to learn to not stress over the little things, embrace the fact that my house may never be 100% organized, perfect or exactly the way I want it. I need to learn to just enjoy my time with my kids and family and live in the moment and not be worried about the laundry that needs to get done or the dishes that need washed.

This is where I'm going to lean on all you mommy's out there!! What are some of the ways you deal with stress and just being a parent in general?

5. House

This section is for the house itself. That could be organizing, decorating or fixing things.

This month the goal is to Organize the girls' toys and their rooms.

This I'm hoping with help with my stress level.

What are some of the ways you organize your kids toys and rooms?? I'm all ears!!

6. Financial 

This section is obviously about financials. We are hoping to one day move out of the house we are in, into a house that we love or one that we build. In order to do that we need to get our financials in order. We need to save money at the same time pay down on our current debt. I still owe A LOT for student loans.

This month the goals is to SPEND LESS!!

I'm mainly doing that by bringing my lunch to work as often as I can. Some days I just don't have the time in the morning but it's my goal!!
